Request for Proposals
Program Description
The Sandyston-Walpack Educational Foundation, Inc. (SWEF) will consider awarding discretionary grants to support educational projects proposed by the faculty, staff, or parents of Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School or proposed by other community members for the benefit of such students. Grants will be considered for any project taking place during a twelve month period which supports the Foundation’s mission.
Mission Statement
The Sandyston-Walpack Educational Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization formed to provide funds to enhance educational opportunities available to students of the Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School.
Funding
Discretionary grants vary in amount dependent on the scope of the proposal and the SWEF funds available. Grants must be used within a 12 month period. Applicants should request a specific amount and propose a specific budget. Each proposal must be endorsed by the Superintendent of Schools. A brief mid-year progress report and a final project assessment report will be required.
The number of grants awarded will depend on the number and scope of requests received. Each recipient will be asked to sign a commitment letter in which the foundation and grantee agree in advance upon the goals and objectives of the project.
Proposal Requirements
Brief description of the project
Rationale:
Explain the need for your project.
How does the project relate to the Foundation’s mission?
What population in the school will benefit from your project?
Will your project be self-sustaining after initial funding?
Project plan and timetable
Amount requested and budget:
Include expenses and sources of income other than the Foundation, if any.
Note future financial needs, if any.
Sample budget categories might include: specific supplies and equipment, software, workshop fees or tuition, travel, field trips, outside speakers, evaluation documentation, other (specify.)
Evaluation: How do you plan to measure your outcome?
Include: Name and telephone number of the applicant(s) and letter of support from the Superintendent.
Grant Review and Timetable
One copy of a proposal of no more than 5 pages should be sent to the Foundation at:

Applications will be accepted at any time. All applicants will be notified of the status of their proposal as soon as possible.
Criteria for Selection
Connection to the mission of the Foundation;
Clarity and creativity of ideas;
Direct impact on the students; and
Completeness and accuracy of the application.
